How long are the Distillery District walking tours?

Our Classic Distillery District Walking Tour runs 60 minutes and focuses on Toronto's early history - and how this was once the world's largest distillery - we'll show you all the nooks and crannies most people don't get to see either. Our food-based Walking Tours range between 75 minutes - 120 minutes. We time these tours so you can easily book them before/after lunch or before dinner!
Perfect Pacing

What should I wear on my Toronto walking tour?

Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Toronto's weather can change quickly, so layers are always a good idea. We walk on historic red brick streets in the Distillery District, so avoid high heels or shoes with poor grip.
In winter, we spend more time indoors to keep you toasty! If it looks like snow, we recommend warm boots with good traction.

Are your walking tours good for photos?

Absolutely! The Distillery District is one of Toronto's most photogenic neighborhoods. Our guides know all the best Instagram spots and will happily take photos of your group at the most scenic locations.
You'll see plenty of photo stops throughout the tour - just let your tour guide know you want a shot and they'll help you out.

The Distillery District has some historic red brick areas that can be challenging for some wheelchair users, but most of our tour route is accessible. We're happy to modify the route to accommodate mobility needs.

How big are your walking tour groups?

We keep groups small for a more personal experience - maximum 15 people for public tours. This allows for better interaction with your guide and ensures everyone can hear clearly and ask questions.
Private groups can be larger - we'll simply add more guides to your booking. Contact us for custom group sizes and corporate team building events.

What happens if it rains during my walking tour?

We operate Toronto walking tours in light rain - the Distillery District has plenty of covered areas and historic buildings to duck into. However, we won't run tours in heavy rain, thunderstorms, or hazardous weather conditions.
Weather cancellations get full refunds or free rescheduling. We'll call you if we need to cancel due to severe weather.

Where do Toronto walking tours start and end?

Tours start at 11 Gristmill Lane in the Distillery District - and end in the Distillery District. We'll send you exact details with your confirmation email.
The Distillery District is easily accessible by TTC (King Streetcar), cycling, walking, and has paid parking nearby for those driving. View our parking map and directions.

When you reserve a walking tour, we schedule our highly trained guides and support staff to make your experience amazing. We've been doing tours since 2005 and understand that sometimes human things happen.

That's why we've built a flexible refund and rebooking policy for our Toronto Walking Tours. When you book direct with us (vs. let's say Tripadvisor), you gain more flexibility and peace of mind. Refunds are usually issued within 3-5 business days to your original payment method.

24+ hours before tour: Full refund
Less than 24 hours or no-show: No refund

If your group gets smaller, reductions follow the same cancellation timeline above. All times based on your departure time in the EST time zone.

🔄 Free Rebooking

Change your dates for free! You can reschedule your walking tour to any available date at no charge with 24+ hours notice. If you rebook within 24 hours, we charge 15% since we need to adjust our staff schedules.

Travel delays or acts of nature? We waive this fee. Contact us and we'll move your booking.

Single-Person Bookings

We may need to cancel single-person bookings within 12 hours if minimum group requirements aren't met. If this happens, we'll attempt to book you on another tour for the same day. However if we must cancel your booking we will offer:

  • Full refund of tour cost
  • 30% discount for future tour (valid 6 months)
  • Priority rebooking assistance

🌦️ Weather Policy

We can operate Toronto Walking Tours in light and medium rain - the Distillery District has covered areas and historic buildings to explore during brief showers. We will not operate walking tours in heavy rain, thunderstorms, or hazardous weather conditions.

Weather cancellation? We reserve the right to cancel your tour if presented with severe weather. Please call first if you have concerns about conditions. We will call only if we are certain your tour will not run, in which case you will be refunded if re-scheduling is unavailable.
