4 Awesome Toronto Destinations You Need to Visit in 2019

There’s more to do in Toronto than ever before!  Whether you’re visiting or live here, there’s something for everyone.  The team at Go Tours Canada has compiled a list of of our 5 favourite Toronto Attractions that you need to visit in 2019.

We've put together a list of 4 great Toronto destinations, you need to check this out!

Ontario Place

If you live in Ontario, you’ve probably heard about Ontario Place in the news lately.  The Provincial government wants to turn the property into a world class attraction.  Did you know there’s already a bunch of cool stuff going on there?

Trillium Park was launched in 2016 as a way to represent Ontario’s diverse terrain – all in a 7.5 acre park.  Featuring rolling hills perfect for biking, rollerblading or walking, the park is a great space to get active with your pets, family or a hot date.  Nestled between the gentle peaks are a pavilion, romantic gardens and miniature bluffs.  You can even rent fire pits!  We’re huge fans of Trillium Park, it’s a perfect respite from the bustle of Toronto life.

If you’re into film, the IMAX Cinesphere is constantly selling out so make sure you get tickets early.  Already in 2019 they’ve shown classic like Spirited Away, Pulp Fiction and Free Solo.  Showings are often throughout the day so it’s a great reason to play hooky from work unless you’re a Segway tour guide.  Okay, so that was a total plug for our tours.  In 2019 you can take a thrilling Segway tour through Ontario Place from mid-May until the end of September.

Museum of Illusions

If you’re on Instagram and live in Toronto, you’ve probably seen this new attraction featuring some mind-bending visuals.  Located almost beside St. Lawrence Market, the Museum is a great way to spend part of your day in Old Town Toronto.

It’s a cool contrast to see a modern museum like this in Toronto’s oldest neighbourhood.  Located just a few minutes from King Station, the Museum is easily accessible by TTC and a short walk.  Want to know a little more?  Visit their website here.

Distillery District

Remember when the Distillery District is where you took a first date?  Let’s be honest, it probably still is but there’s waaay more going on these days – like one of our Walking or Segway Tours.

First off, let’s talk about the awesome food.  Our buds at Wildly Delicious will delight your senses.  Whether you’re savory, sweet, spicy or all 3 combined, they’ve tickle your tastebuds in ways you didn’t even know were possible.

Of course, we can’t bring up the Distillery without mentioning a few of the great restaurants.  If you want some awesome Japanese, visit Boku Noodle Bar.  Their delicious menu pairs incredibly well with a star-studded Sake list, including Izumi Sake.  If you’re feeling a little more formal, make sure you check out Cluny.  French cuisine combined with stunning interior design will have your taste buds and eyes dazzling.

Coming on a weekend?  The area isn’t usually as busy on Sundays plus the Sunday Farmer’s Market runs from Mid-May until Mid-October.  There are numerous other events going on in the Distillery this year too.  Don’t miss out on Artfest!  We also have a number of great artists here throughout the year in the Distillery Artscape studios.  It’s a great spot to find goods hand-crafted right in the Distillery District.

Toronto Islands

There are few international cities that can claim an island within a 10 minute ferry ride.  Even fewer with awesome beaches, intact nature and a clothing optional beach.  The Toronto Islands have been a hot spot for decades but there’s more to do than ever.  The Islands are easy to get to – the city runs a ferry service and there are multiple water taxis, including the Tiki Taxi.

From Spring-Fall, you can find a ton of activities at Centreville Theme Park.  Rides, Mini-Golf and more await those that prefer skipping the beach and getting right to the action.  Did you bring the kids?  Far Enough Farm has a free petting zoo including a pot-belly pig AND a Guinea Pig.  SO MANY PIGS.

If you’re looking for sun, there are plenty of options.  Are you a fan of tan-lines?  Good news, there are plenty of beaches on Ward’s and Centre Island.  Want to get that sweet full body tan from head to toe?  Hanlan’s Point Beach is the place for you.  Get as nude as you like at this favourite Summer spot  and free yourself from the restrictions of clothed, city life.

What Else is There to Do?

This certainly isn’t an exhaustive list of Toronto Attractions but we think it’s a great start for your next trip.  If you want any further recommendations or have any of your own, leave us a comment below or email us at admin@gotourscanada.com.
