Everything You Need to Know About the New Toronto Christmas Market

Fans of the Toronto Christmas Market rejoice – the Distillery District Winter Village  is here. Relive the city’s favourite Christmas event with a new twist this year.  The 2021 Distillery District Winter Village features many Toronto Christmas Market mainstays but is focused on exploring the 75+ local businesses, restaurants and vendors in the neighbourhood.

To answer one of our most common questions: To enter the Distillery District’s 2021 Winter Village, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination and ID at the entry gates.  Any other questions? Keep reading to find out all the details you need to plan your trip.

Entry and Tickets for the 2021 Winter Village

In prior years, the Toronto Christmas Market was only ticketed during peak periods. For 2021, the Distillery Winter Village is ticketed during peak hours to help improve foot traffic flow and ensure event capacity limits aren’t exceeded.  If you are visiting the Winter Village outside of ticketed hours, you still must show proof of vaccination.

All tickets are cashless and digital.  Buy your tickets at the Distillery District Winter Village website.
Tickets are $8, and free for children under 6 years of age.

Ticketed entrance times are:
November 18 to December 19: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm
December 20 to 23: Tickets required from 4:00pm to 10:00pm

December 24, 25 & 26: Winter Village not operating

December 27 to December 30: Tickets required from 4:00pm to 10:00pm
December 31: Family Friendly NYE Event, 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Tickets required from 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Winter Village Hours of Operation

The 2021 Winter Village is open 6 days a week from Tuesday – Sunday.

The Distillery Winter Village does not operate on Mondays
November 18 to December 23:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 12:00pm to 9:00pm
Friday and Saturday: 12:00pm to 10:00pm
Sunday: 12:00pm to 9:00pm
Special Holiday Hours:
December 24, 25, 26: Winter Village will not operate
December 27 to December 31: 12:00pm to 9:00pm
NOTE: The Distillery Winter Village will be open on Monday, December 20 and Monday, December 27. These are the only Monday’s the Winter Village will be operating.

How to Get to the Winter Village: Parking, Transit, Micromobility

To ensure your travel to and from The Distillery Winter Village is hassle-free and full of cheer, we’ve put together a complete list of options to help you plan your visit.

With construction and condo development in the area, parking is very limited. The best way to travel to The Distillery Winter Village is to take Public Transit, Micromobility (okay we added this one!), Rideshare, or try Bike Share Toronto.

New Mill Street bike lanes were just created and there are Bike Share stations right at our front door (at Mill St. & Parliament St. and Cherry St. & Distillery Lane).  If you do intend to drive, here’s a list of Green P parking lots in the vicinity. (The lot at 2 Church Street/St. Lawrence Market usually has plenty of space and is only a 15-minute walk away). 

2021 Winter Village Important Dates

  • December 24, 25, 26: Winter Village will not operate
  • December 27 – 31: Final Days of the 2021 Winter Village
  • December 31: Free, family friendly NYE Celebration from 6-9pm

With over 75 retailers and 10+ restaurants in the Distillery District, there’s something for everyone!  Almost all of the Distillery District’s shops and retailers are open during Winter Village hours, so plan accordingly.  Get the full list of retailers here.
